Amid all the controversies, 'The Kerala Story' gets an 'A' certificate from CBFC on Tuesday.

The Kerala Story, starring Adah Sharma, in the lead role, has been in the headlines ever since its first trailer was released last month. The film also raised the political temperature in the country and sparked a debate over its plot. Now, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued an ‘A’ certificate to the film along with 10 suggested cuts which reportedly also include a scene featuring an interview with a former Chief Minister of Kerala, VS Achuthanandan.

Controversy around The Kerala Story

Ever since the trailer of the upcoming film was released, it has raised the eyebrows of many and become the talk of the town for many. Many politicians have put out their take on the film including the current CM of the state Pinarayi Vijayan, who called it a ”planned move” for ”Sangh’s propaganda”.

The movie reportedly revolves around the topic of ‘Love Jihad’, where several thousand of Keralite girls were converted to Islam, and later being recruited to ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

Member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor, too slammed the film and said ”It may be *your* Kerala story. It is not *our* Kerala story.”
